Real Madrid's Trent Alexander-Arnold Could Face His Former Club in November's Champions League Match
The Spanish giants acquired Trent Alexander-Arnold with a long-term contract
The defender's recovery is advancing according to plan, raising a chance that the Madrid defender might be fit soon enough to confront his previous club Liverpool in the upcoming European tie.
The English international suffered a muscle strain during a match against French side Marseille in the initial phase of the tournament on September 16.
Alexander-Arnold was forced off the pitch in the fifth minute, with initial estimates indicating a possible layoff of around a month and a half.
Real Madrid are scheduled to play at Liverpool on 4 November for the European match—just seven weeks since the incident happened.
Reports close to the situation state that the defender's comeback is advancing well, and there is hope that Alexander-Arnold might achieve his initial comeback to Liverpool's stadium after joining Los Blancos in the summer.
A lifelong Liverpool supporter, Alexander-Arnold previously remarked that departing from the team he joined as a six-year-old academy player was the "most difficult decision he has ever made."
During his tenure with the Merseyside club, Alexander-Arnold notched over 350 appearances, helping win two Premier League titles, a Champions League, and the domestic cup.
Since joining to the Spanish capital, Alexander-Arnold has appeared on five occasions across various tournaments, logging over two and a half hours of action.
