New information has come to light regarding the untimely demises of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were located at their Brentwood, Los Angeles home on Sunday.

The Initial Report

A source indicates quoting a confidential source, a massage therapist scheduled for an appointment initially became concerned after being unable to gain access the residence. The practitioner then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides nearby.

When she went into the house, Romy came upon her father's body. Accounts indicate she then left the home distraught, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Her roommate who had accompanied her then dialed 911. Subsequently, paramedics located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Developments

Authorities have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of first-degree murder, as well as the alleged use of a deadly weapon, reportedly a knife. He is now detained and is ineligible for bail.

Clarifications

The person close to the family questioned several earlier details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a separate structure on the grounds, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that moment.

Furthermore pushed back against widely reported notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "concerned" about Nick's behavior in the weeks leading up to the incident. Rather the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

This correction applies to reports of reportedly "unpredictable" behavior by Nick at a event hosted by Conan O'Brien on the night before the bodies were found. Although the source noted they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they said that claims of a "major confrontation" between the two were inaccurate.

Investigation Timeline

Per law enforcement officials, the coroner had yet to determine as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Preliminary accounts suggested the condition of their bodies pointed to they had been deceased for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was apprehended at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, roughly 15 miles from the family home. He was set to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not received medical clearance and would not be present until no sooner than Wednesday.
