Ex- British Broadcasting Corporation Consultants Undergo Parliamentary Inquiry Following Claims of Prejudice in Leaked Document
We begin with inquiries from Tory Member of Parliament Caroline Dinenage, that chairs the committee.
She commences by providing background to the leaked memorandum authored by Michael Prescott and published in a national newspaper.
"I don't want the BBC slanting toward one side or the other, I simply desire it neutral, fair and equitable," he states.
In response to a query if he considers the British Broadcasting Corporation is systematically partial, the adviser replies: "Absolutely not. To be clear, tons of stuff the British Broadcasting Corporation produces is world class - both factual and entertainment content."
But he adds: "There is significant effort that must be undertaken at the British Broadcasting Corporation."
Another ex-adviser British Broadcasting Corporation adviser questioned by the group, Caroline Daniel, says she views the BBC extremely earnestly and that it operates a "persistent practice and lively discussion" regarding evolving and intricate issues.
"Whether the BBC was willing to engage in a thorough discussion and debate and act accordingly?" she questions. "As I see it, affirmative, they were."
